All The Difference

By June Carolyn Erlick ’70
editor-in-chief, ReVista, the Harvard Review of Latin America

Ever since I was a little girl, I wanted to be a journalist for the (perhaps) mistaken reason that I loved to write. As an undergraduate, I majored in philosophy because I wanted to improve my thinking skills and I figured I would be a journalist for the rest of my life. The J-School gave me a full scholarship, but more than that, it imbued in me the love of reporting, of chasing after facts, of trying always to encounter the truth. It gave me a community of colleagues and friends. It made all the difference.... it changed my life.
